Bochlwyd Horseshoe

High Carneddau

Carneddau hill walk in Snowdonia can be called a point from your bucket list. Your trek begins with a climb up to Pen yr Ole Wen hill and along the East Ridge. Another way is to climb up to Ogwen, but this track is recommended to more experienced climbers. After Pen yr Ole Wen the way goes up to Carnedd Dafydd over the Carnedd Llwelyn. This is the highest point of this track as it is over a thousand meters in height and is actually the second highest point in Wales.

The track continues downwards through Craig yr Ysfa and Cwm Lygwy where many hikers decide to finish their walk. However, if you want to challenge yourself, you can continue your way through the Pen yr Helgi Du and Pen Llithrig y Wrach.  

Bochlwyd Horseshoe

If you are a hiking enthusiast, then you should try Bochlwyd Horseshoe which is divided into four different tracks. Cimb up the to the Tryfan North Ridge and down the other side to South Ridge and don’t skip an amazing Bristly Ridge. The way down goes through Y Gribin Ridge and ends at Cwm Bochlwyd. This active walk is an intense day out, and only really for people that are physically fit and experienced hikers.

Snowden South Ridge

Mount Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales, and offers a plenty of great walks for everyone. You can find leisurely strolls for the family trip and grueling climbs further up to the mountain for professionals. The Watkin Path is the most popular walk beginners and older people, but if you really want to test Snowdon then try an ascent of the South Ridge. This track starts at Nant Gwynant and continues down the Y Lliwedd. There are some more difficult parts where you will actually have to use your hands, so if you are not in these adventures better use another way.
